WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a permanent makeup for eyebrows. It is also known as eyebrow embroidery, micro-stroking and feather touch. It is a form of permanent makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of pigment. We use a hand-held, disposable, sterile blade as well as high quality pigments to create the finest hair strokes you can imagine.

HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?

Two-three hours on average. During your appointment we will consult with you the entire time ensuring we are on the same page. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and color. The actual procedure itself takes 30min to an hour.

IS THE TOUCH UP APPOINTMENT INCLUDED?
In order to ensure that the brows heal perfectly a minimum of two treatments are usually needed 6-8 weeks apart on average as it gives us the ability to correct any areas that possibly faded or allows the client to make suggestions if they want adjustments with the shape or color. The touch up is not included in the initial cost.

HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years to maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

- Skin type (oily skin fades faster)

- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)

- Sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)

- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy).
These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your microblading.

DOES IT HURT?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain free for most.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

CAN I GET MICROBLADING IF I'M NURSING OR PREGNANT?

As a precaution to avoid any complications, we do not perform microblading on pregnant or nursing women.

DOES MICROBLADING RUIN YOUR BROWS?

It's always good to know how you heal, and the effect that a semi-permanent procedure will have on your skin, If a procedure is performed correctly and you have been honest with your brow artist, you shouldn’t experience lasting scarring. You should know your brow artist’s previous work and be confident in the result you’re going to get.

ARE SEMI-PERMANENT BROWS, PERMANENT?

Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A COLOR?

We choose a color together by applying small amounts of different color pigments to the skin near your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features and personal preference. As a rule of thumb, we closely match the color of your brow hair rather than your current hair color for the most natural results.

CAN YOU MICROBLADE OVER EXISTING MICROBLADING?
Microblading can be done over precious work, however the old work must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural. Please advise if you have existing microblading, a consultation will need to be scheduled to see if you are a candidate.

WILL MY MICROBLADED BROWS LOOK FAKE?

NO! Our brow pigmentation, unique artistry, guarantees soft, natural looking eyebrows. When we implant semi-permanent makeup pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than topically applied cosmetics.
