Below you can find a brief description of the expected timing of your brow healing

Your new microbladed brows will go through several phases during the healing process but don't panic! Brow shock is a real thing, TRUST THE PROCESS!

What Can I Expect During the Healing Process?

Some clients find the healing process is a breeze, for others this process can bring a lot of different feelings to surface. Too dark, too thick, too light, too thin, scabbing, gone?! Let me hold your hand through this emotional rollercoaster, as your trusted artist, I'm here for you!

Everyone has a different skin metabolism and may heal differently. You may not go through each stage of the expected healing, but it's important to know what to expect, in case you do.

What are the Stages of Microblading Healing Process?

Usually, there are 6 stages of the healing process after the microblading procedure:

  • swollen and dark brows

  • exfoliation and scabbing

  • eyebrows too light, almost disappeared

  • the color is back, but the brows look patchy

  • touch up

  • full recovery

Day 1:

You are in love and obsessed with your new brows, they're natural and subtle just like you wanted and you can’t stop staring in the mirror. Some swelling and redness around the brows is to be expected, but nothing that will have to stop you from going in public to show off your new look!

Days 2-4:

Your brows are probably still be a little tender. They're also a little thicker and darker than day 1 and you might start to have a million questions... "Did we go too dark?" "Maybe we went too thick?" "I'm not sure if I like them!"

This is all part of the process! If the pigment is darker than you like don’t worry because they will soften over the next week about 30-50%.

Days 5-7:

So itchy and flaky! You might be tempted to itch, touch, peel. Hands off love, let them heal naturally. You have to remember you have an open wound and the body is trying to heal that area. Picking your brows can result in pigment loss and creating unwanted scar tissue. Continue following the aftercare instructions given and the flaking will come and go when the skin is ready. This is the most patient part of the healing process. It is important you know upfront that scabbing can occur so there are no surprises or panic. We want you to know this is normal and okay!

Days 8-13:

The flakiness has come and gone and now the color will seem too light. Your brows may also appear "patchy" in some areas, or you've noticed some pigment loss. As our body heals, our skin creates a new layer of skin, resulting in some pigment loss or patchiness. This is also a normal part of the healing process. Don't worry, the pigment will resurface and if it doesn't in certain areas, this is why it's so important to come back for your initial touch up session in 6-8 weeks.

Days 14-30:

Your brows are healing their true shape, size and color. They're looking full and beautiful and your so happy you trusted your artist during this process ;)

Congratulations! You’ve survived the healing process!

6-12 week Touch-Up

The touchup is important to correct all the imperfections (patchiness) that happen throughout the healing process. This is also an opportunity to bring your brows thicker and/or darker if they've shrunk too much or faded too light.

After a touch up your brows will take its final shape and color. If you followed the aftercare tips, you will be head over heels with your new brows and I will see you again in 1-2 years for your annual!
